Period gone AWOL, when to start progesterone

I'm on 2 pumps of estogel daily, and 200mg progesterone for 12 days starting on day 15.

Only I'm day 35 of my cycle (so stopped progesterone 8 days ago) and no sign of my period. I got the usual bloating, chocolate cravings and irritability - even cramps 2 days ago as if it were starting - but nothing, no bleeding not even a spot.

This is really unusual for me, my cycles are usually 25/26 days.

My question is, do I start the progesterone in 7 days time (ie after 15 days of estrogen only) regardless of whether I start my period or not?

This has been exactly my scenario. Used to be 25 -26 days but takes 7-12 days after I stop utrogestan to start a bleed.

I'm just carrying on the routine of 12 out of 28 days. Makes no difference if I do out of 30! It means I'm starting utrogestan a couple of days after my bleed this month but I do think it could regulate.

I was told you just think of the cycle being one continuous level when on hrt.

My bleeds are becoming v light and I think I need to go up to 100. I may see how it goes and then consider continuous. But apparently sometimes women don't always bleed on cyclical regimes anyway.

I've been told it should regulate. I've had covid twice this year though which may have upset things.

Thanks for replying, so I'll just ignore whether I bleed or not and stick to a 28 day routine regardless.

I completely skipped a bleed after my Pfizer Covid booster last year but I've not had Covid so I'm at a loss as to why it's so late. I'm not hugely fussed apart from the need to constantly take sanpro everywhere just in case!

Have you just started hrt?

When I first started in Nov, my period when completely awol for two cycles and it was actually only brought on by the covid booster (also had nose bleeds so I'm sure it was.)

After that it was the only perfect 28 days but since then it's been 30-38. Seems to take a week or more after I stop utrogestan. Hence now starting utrogestan two days after my period. I am using vaginally though. No idea if makes a difference.

I suspect I'm winding down completely as my bleeds are so short despite being on 75 patches. Apparently you will continue to have bleeds if remain on cyclical but they aren't really periods.

That's the advice I've had. As I say I only delayed it by a couple of days once when I had a really heavy bleed that coincided with utrogestan as I'm using vaginally.

I was just prescribed what you're on OP. I'm 46 and haven't had a period in 6 months. GP said to just take the progesterone for 12 days out of every 28, and suggested doing that from 1-12th of every month as that would make it easier to remember. She didn't say anything about changing that if I have a period again...
