HRT and palpitations

I started the Evorel Conti hrt patch on Monday, so only my 4th. I have suffered palpitations for years but they’ve suddenly got much worse over the last 3 days - does hrt cause palpitations? Will it settle down? I’m also on the mini pill (progesterone only) and haven’t had a period for 5 years. I started spotting on Tuesday (has stopped) but have had period type pains most of the time since Tuesday (today Thursday) - is this normal when starting hrt? I really haven’t been told what to expect by the doc!

It sounds like too much progesterone with both Everol Conti plus the mini pill. Palpitations were one of the main reasons I turned to HRT (Everol Conti too) and it’s largely sorted now.

Evorel conti is estrogen only I believe?

The ingredients will be on the packet of patches.

Evorel 50 is estrogen only.
Everol conti is estrogen +noretheristerone

If it's not got norethisterone in it then your mini pill isn't enough to be used with estrogen.

Agree with PP that too much/ different progestins might be the problem.
