Feeling worried..

Feeling worried, please don't judge me.. I'm 47 and and have been in perimenopause for the last year and a half, my cycle is irregular, ranges between 20 and 35 days and on the odd occasion 45+ days. I stopped taking the combined pill three years ago. Partner and I got carried away yesterday in a rare moment where I felt like actually wanting to have sex and didn't use a condom like we usually do, we fortunately both realised our mistake and he pulled out prior to ejaculation. I feel so stupid for our mistake, but I'm worried now in case I am pregnant. I'd had an ultrasound scan the day before and was told it looked like I was around mid cycle, which I took to mean I was close to ovulating (last period started 4th July)? So I'm even more worried 😟 Would I be wise to take the morning after pill? And if so have I missed the window for taking it? 😔

Go and talk to a pharmacist asap about the MAP. Can't you take it within 3 days of sex?

Yes you could be pregnant.

It is unlikely but not impossible by any means. I know (of) a woman giving birth at 49 (natural conception.)

I’d get the morning after pill tomorrow -you are in time.

You need to take the emergency contraceptive pill within 3 days (Levonelle) or 5 days (ellaOne) of unprotected sex for it to be effective – the sooner you take it, the more effective it'll be.

… and I’ll add this happened to DH and I. We were away, chemists were closed, I was peri or thought I was. We let it slide/forgot.
DD is now 6! I thought I had just put on weight from over indulgence!

Hope you managed to get to a Chemist @Confuzled24

My BF is the result of the Peri. Her DM thought she was too old to have babies and was just putting on a bit of "middle aged spread".
