Urgent help with oestrogel/Sandrena

Wonder if anyone can advise me!!
Started HRT April. Main symptom awful anxiety. GP prescribed oestrogen and utrogesten.
After first prescription, they prescribed Sandrena as an alternative as no more oestrogen. So I had one bottle only.
By this point, I neither really felt worse or better!!

So I kind of messed up with the Sandrena. They gave me both the 0.5mg and 1mg as didnt have enough 1mg ones, but said don't mix them up. Dose prescribed was one 1mg packet or 2x 0.5mg.
This is wrong though isnt it. I think I need 1.5 mg of the sandrena to be equal to the oestrogen?!.

So i tweaked my own dose and used 3 x 0.5mg sachets. This is where I went wrong. Carried on doing the same with the 1mg sachets by mistakes!!!So was having 3mg a day!!
I did this for a couple of weeks until I realised last week.
Maybe a coincidence but I felt like I was feeling a bit Better.

Anyway, ordered my repeat prescription last week and was scared that they would say why have I run out so soon! They didn't , and reissued me with oestrogen as back in Stock.

Now I have almost a full box of sandrena 1mg left . I go on holiday next week and thought the sachets easier to carry. So I've gone back on the oestrogen 2 pumps to save the remainder of the Sandrena for travelling

I feel crap this week. Anxious and moody and distracted. I've had personal things going on so could be that. But surely all this mix up in hormones cant help. What should I do? Carry on with gel till holiday and then take sachets abroad with me, and if so, what should I take 1mg as prescribed or 1.5mg which is the equivalent. Or take oestrogel with me?
Sorry if long and confusing.
Think GP prescribing it wrong hasn't helped.

Sorry multiple typos oestrogel, not oestrogen.

If both products are oestrogen then you aren't 'mixing hormones', you're just using two different products that contain the same ingredient.

However, it's telling that you felt better on the higher dosage (3mg per day vs. 1mg or 1.5mg). I would call your doctor, explain that you accidentally gave yourself a higher dose for a while, felt much better on that higher dose, and ask that your prescription is adjusted to allow you to continue to take that higher dose in future.

Yes I thought that. Now I'm doubting if I did feel better!! I don't think 3mg of Sandrena is actual prescribed dose though?

I think you are over-thinking this!

It's usual when starting gel to try various doses to see which is best. The starting dose is 2 pumps. Some women need less, others more.

3mgs would be 4 pumps of gel (0.75mgs x4) which is quite high but not unheard of.

Sandrena and Oestrogel are the same although the gel base is slightly different (some women say Sandrena is more gooey and takes longer to dry.)

Why don't you try 3 pumps of gel and see how that feels?

It's not really a 'big deal' as all you are doing is getting the right dose to ease your symptoms.

😊think you are right! OK I will. But going forward with the Sandrena for holiday should I go for 1 1mg sachet as prescribed or 1.5 which is the oestrogel equivalent?
