Does anyone experience no side effects using Evorel 50 or Evorel 75 with the mirena coil

Hi. I am looking for advice. I have been using Evorel 50 for 4 months and felt amazing on these patches. Mood lifted, night sweats disappeared, anxiety gone. I then had the mirena coil fitted on the 8th June and started to feel low again but knew it would be because of having the coil fitted and it will take time for my hormones to adjust. I am starting to feel my mood is lifting again but my doctor has said it should take between 3 and 6 months for my hormones to take effect.

I have notice I feel bloated and I am a little bit worried I will gain weight. I understand with my age (50) I will gain weight because of middle age but I work hard in keeping my weight in check. Gym classes, walking, etc. I have Lost 4 stone and have kept it off over 2 years so I am hoping the bloating will subside in a few months time.

I am just wondering if anyone has a positive outcome using Evorel 50 and the mirena coil. I have spoke to my doctor and asked if I could have a higher dose, Evorel 75 but she said it wouldn't make any difference at this stage.

If you feel Evorel 50 or Evorel 75 and the coil has worked for you I would really appreciate it if you could let me know. Also how long did the bloating disappeared and once your hormones settled and any weight gain was lost.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm on this combination of E 75 and Mirena.
I've not experienced bloating , but more my skin playing up.
It seems more spotty and less healthy looking.

I expect the bloating will settle. It's likely to be water retention rather than actual weight gain.

I'm not sure about the coil at all and on week 7, so you are about a week behind me maybe ? ( my fitting was May 31).

Thanks you Runaround50. My skin is ok but my hair hasn't been as thick as it was. I am hoping in a couple of months time hormones will settle. I do feel better with the patches/coil and wished I took it sooner. I hope you are feeling the same.

Yes I'm hoping things will settle soon too.

Do you have any spotting with your coil ?

parrotonmyshoulder · 19/07/2022 20:47

I have evorel 50 and mirena. Have had the patches for 8 months. Only side effect for me is reduced libido. This is outweighed by the benefits to me (especially as I never slept before so was too tired for sex anyway!).

I have evorel 75 & a mirena. I’m happy the combination keeps my main meno symptoms under control - mood & temperature swings & feeling I couldn’t cope. I was overweight before I started this regime & still am now!

I had spotting since I had the coil fitted on the 8th June and over last couple of days it has stopped.
It is a relief as I have always had very heavy periods.
I hope you continue to feel good on the patches and your skin will improve.

Thank you parrotonmyshoulder. I know what you mean with feeling too tired for sex. With or without the patches! 😉

I’m on Evorel 50 with mirena and have no side effects at all. Having said that though I’ve had the mirena for about 24 years so I don’t know if that makes a difference

Thanks for your imput Chewbecca. I am feeling so much better on the patches. I was riddled with Anxiety, low mood and like you, had the feeling I couldn't cope. I am much happier apart from the uncomfortable bloating but have to give it a chance for my hormones to settle.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply to me. I appreciate it.

I’m in 100 plus mirena. No side effects that I’ve identified from the actual medication
