Peri and periods

I'm mid 40's and pretty sure peri is starting. At the moment I have Covid, AF has arrived 3 days early and I'm not sure if it's Covid related or Peri related.

My cycles over the last year have actually got shorter some months (just checked my app while starting this thread) this is my 4th 25 day cycle.

Anyway, I have started today and it is so heavy, I usually start with a bit of spotting then gradual flow but this time it is full on heavy bleeding, quite clotty and not like what I'd usually experience.

Is this usual Peri symptoms?

Not experienced with peri but I am experienced with Covid! Both times I’ve had insanely heavy periods that started like that, no gradual build up so it could be that?

How strange! It's normal flow today I'd say but yesterday was horrific. I wasn't really cramping just hit with a 3 day early mega flow that I can't say I have ever experienced before.
