3 days into Oestrogel and I’ve started bleeding

So, a couple of months ago I finally stopped spotting following 7 months of it after a Mirena coil being put in. 3 days into Oestrogel and I’ve woken up bleeding. Is it the Oestrogel, will it stop ?

Yes it's likely the gel. Odd though as I thought the coil would have prevented it?

7 months of spotting with Mirena? Crikey, that's a long time. I'm only 6 weeks in and fed up with the spotting already.

The bleeding should settle, any new HRT can cause bleeds within the first 6 months or so.

Good luck 🤞

Oh god, I can’t do another 6 months of spotting !

It takes weeks for estrogen to stimulate the womb lining, not 3 days.

By the way , if you've had a coil for 7 months AND you are feeling anxious and a bit low, maybe consider it's the Mirena that isn't suiting you? Low mood is a known side effect. You might be better off with a different type of progestin.

No, the Mirena does suit me, it helped my PMT massively.

It could still be the gel. Hopefully the bleed won't last long.
Doubt you will bleed for 6 months with a coil in situ . It's just that sometimes HRT can stimulate the womb lining and cause a bit of a bleed.
It's actually one of the better progesterone to control bleeding ( so I was told by my specialist, Dr Paula Briggs).
