Peri menopausal - normal bleeding??

I have just turned 50 and over the last year my periods have got further and further apart and I now haven't had a period for 6 months. However 2 weeks ago I had what felt like the ovulation pains and symptoms I used to have when my periods were 'normal'. I started bleeding three days ago, very lightly, and it had now stopped which is exactly how my periods used to be. Is this normal to have a period again after 6 months of nothing?? We have a history of endometrial cancer in my family hence my concern. For full disclosure I have an ultrasound booked for 2 weeks time but just wanted to hear others experiences? Thanks 😊

Perfectly possible. I got to 11 months between periods. It was a little lighter than it used to be, but then they could hardly have been heavier crime scene week!

I went 8 months without one, then had two sort of on time and then they stopped just a month before i was 52.
My friend went 11 months between hers.
Hope all goes well with your scan.
