Is this the Peri-Menopause?

Hi there
Looking for some advice ladies.
im 46.5 and have had regular periods the last few years although recently the cycles have been getting longer - 5 to 6 weeks long.
i haven’t had a period for about 10 weeks now. Annoyingly I have had all my usual PMS symptoms eg sore boobs, cramps but not a sign of bleeding. There’s no chance I’m pregnant. I had a scan 6 days after my last period and was told my ovaries were quiescent (sleeping). I’m due to have some fertility treatment but I can’t start until my period arrives. This happened once a few years ago when I was due to start IVF so I wonder if maybe I’m subconsciously stressed.
could this be the start of the Peri-Menopause or something else? I don’t have any other menopausal symptoms.

thanks

It does sound like peri-menopause. I am a bit older but keep feeling like I am going to have a period...then...nothing. Aching boobs, bloating, mood swings, etc. I don't really get hot flushes yet though so I have all that to come! Peri-menopause can last for about 10 years apparently.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I think you may be right. Just really annoying my period disappears when I really need it to be there!
The constant feeling of PMS that goes on for months is also really annoying. I wouldn't mind not having periods if I didn't have all the symptoms that I'm due on.
