Hi, has anyone been advised to take Utrogestan as well a having the Mirena coil? I'm peri, still have my womb, had new Mirena April 2021, and am on 5.5 pumps of Oestrogel. My specialist has advised that I need additional progestin as I'm on a dose of Oestrogel which is above license. TIA!

I've got a Mirena. It provides slow but continuous progesterone locally, so can't think why you would need to add utrogestan to the mix.

Ive been told that I take what ever dose of Oestrogen I want, now the coil is in place.

That’s what I’ve always been told! Everything I’ve read contradicts the specialist’s advice. Feel a bit confused…..

5.5 pumps! Do you paint your whole body?!
(sorry to miss point of thread)

Could it because you are on such a high dose of eostrogel? You need more progestogen to protect the uterine lining? I have utrogestan a mirena, but only because mirena is over 5 years old. When I can get an appointment and get it changed I will stop the utrogestan.
