I am sick and tired of the sweating!

Hello, please help.

I cannot take any more of the sweating and heat I have with the menopause. It's affecting my work and my mood.
So far, I've just used supplements and acupuncture to help with heat and sweating but yesterday was the day of no return for me- I had a work event and spent most of the day sweating profusely and looking like a used up dishrag because of it.

I have no night sweats and the worst symptom is the additional heat and sweating. If I use a hairdryer in the morning then I'm drenched in sweat, if I walk a little then I'm drenched in sweat, if I do anything I'm drenched in sweat!
I avoid social events with work colleagues as I know I'll be drenched in sweat by the time I get anywhere.
Can you tell I'm also angry :)

I would be so grateful for any suggestions. I've just called my GP for an appt to talk about HRT as I can't continue like this.
Would really appreciate any feedback on HRT/other solutions that have worked for symptoms like this.

TIA

You poor thing. I know exactly how awful it is to be a hot mess. Dish rag is right

i use HRT to stop feeling like I’m about to burst into sweat like a geyser, and pretty much from day one it worked.

i hope your GP appointment goes well.

I love my HRT and have still the odd day when I’m really sweaty, but I think that’s just the weather.

please don’t isolate yourself from your colleagues and friends, just bring a fan, and say you’re feeling the heat today. This phase won’t last forever, and you may find that HRT works perfectly for you.

no need to stay away from people.. you know, they’re hot too!!!

I hope you find the perfect HRT - I was so happy I did- it was like the thermostat was turned down immediately, and mood turned up... all frustration vaporised too.
I use sequential Oestrogen gel and utrogestan, with occasional testosterone.

Yes, HRT is a good answer. Also, I carry a hand fan everywhere with me. I feel no shame about whipping it out, or about saying "bloody menopause" to whoever is in earshot if I feel an urge to.

I use a mechanical fan by the bed at night, and dress both myself and my bed in cotton fabrics and layers.

I haven't had a hot sweat since I started using HRT, my anxiety is much better and I can sleep at night. I'm staying on this for as long as possible!

Thank you all so much. I’m due to speak with my GP on Monday and I’m hopeful she will help.
