HRT

After suffering for 3 years with hot flushes, night sweats, bad sleep and irritability I've finally got HRT. I tried all the natural remedies to start with and nothing helped and I was told by colleagues that HRT is a life changer and some who say it did nothing. I'd like to hear about some experiences with HRT as I don't really know what to expect! I'm on a patch and oral prostegen once a day. Thank you!

Sorry this has been missed - yes absolutely life changing.

The pain and irrational grumpiness evaporated.

I will add that I started at a low dose and have seen that I've gradually needed more, confirmed by blood tests. My symptoms last month before raising again were all back.

They do start low though as the side effects of a bucket load of oestrogen all of a sudden can be tough.

If the progesterone is making you too groggy you can take vaginally, though most find it settles.

hopefully jinglingbells will come on and advise you. She helped me greatly.

Some symptoms did take a while to go, others immediate.

You do have to commit to trialling the doses and getting a review. Some then find they have to try a completely different regime.
