St John's Wort

I've been taking this for years to manage mild depression symptoms, and it's done a great job. Separately, I have been recommended Conti patches today to manage menopause symptoms. I note the patient leaflet says not to take with St John's Wort as it can interfere with the patches. Has anyone else had experience of this, have you stopped taking the St John's Wort, and do the patches help with any mild depression symptoms?

On a side note, I had a lovely experience today at my GP surgery with a practice nurse specialising in menopause. Felt listened to and supported, and we agreed that trying Conti patches would be a good first step in trying to manage my menopause symptoms, as I haven't had a period for 3+ years. Brain fog is what I am bothered about most due to impact on work, but it would be nice to lessen the insomnia and aching joints and revive some libido. Unfortunately the topic of over the counter medicines didn't come up so the St John's Wort didn't form part of the discussion.
