Hi. I'm mid forties and always had a short ~23-25 day menstrual cycle since I started tracking in early thirties with a short luteal phase of max 11 days. Struggled to conceive and the month I did conceive DS my 3 progesterone day 19, 21, 23 all came back as too low to have ovulated! I have been on mirena IUD for about 4 years. Cycles have been getting progressively shorter and the last 5 have all been 19 days with very short luteal phases (as opposed to ovulating very early in cycle). Is it common with perimenopause for cycles to get shorter?

I believe shorter cycles are common in peri mine have gone from regular 21 day cycle to 18 in the last year .
Im 46 and suspect I’m in peri .

When mine started becoming irregular they would often be shorter (cycle). Or I’d skip months here and there. This started when I was about 40 or 41. I’m now 46 and haven’t had a period for the past 6 months.
