Break through bleeds

Hi , I’m on continuous Everol75 & Utrogestan 200. I have yet to find the right balance for me as I’m bleeding every two weeks .

I was previously on Utrogestan 100 but because of the break through bleeding my Dr suggested trying 200 ,I’m so fed up with it all as I started bleeding again yesterday .

I know that it can take up to 6 months to settle but I’ve been on HRT a year now and just feel it’s not working for me the bleeding is getting me down I really thought that Utrogestan 200 would have helped . I’ve had a vaginal scan in April which was fine .
any advice would be greatly appreciated

From my experience stop taking the HRT prescribed. Have you had a blood test for your hormone levels to be tested this is the first thing that's needs to be done as currently the combination of hormones you are taking are causing the bleeding.

I experienced this for 2.5 years, I saw a gynaecologist who took me off the HRT immediately within 3 days my periods had stopped but other symptoms started - hot flushes, fatigue, mood swings. Three months later I am on another combo of HRT that seems to be working.

If you have a menopause specialist at your doctors surgery ask for an appt asap.

Good luck

Thankyou for your reply , I haven’t had a period for two years . I had a hormone blood test in March of this year which was ok .
Im feeling rubbish at the moment I’ll send an email to my meno Dr

I experienced two week bleeding on the evorel patches and utrogestan.
Eventually I had a Mirena fitted (5 weeks ago.)

Is this something you could perhaps consider?

Thankyou runaround50 , I do think that Utrogestan isn’t for me it’s like my periods have started all over again . I’ve got an appt with my meno dr this month so I’ll mention the mirena

Yes frosty, I experienced EXACTLY the same as you.
Every 2/3 weeks, cramps and bleeding. It was so annoying and inconvenient.

Utrogestan just didn't do the job. My womb lining wasn't particularly thick, I suppose because it was being shed all the time.

Since the Mirena, I haven't bled for 60 days now. So will see what happens.

Good luck
