Just started hrt patches for perimenopause. Could you please tell me how long it took for you to feel better in yourself?

I started with evoril Sequi. I found my mood improved quite quickly when on the oestrogen. But awful again once I used the prog/oestrogen mix. I've tried 3 months and the same thing each time. It's my moods that are the biggest issue - I get so snappy and irate and fly off the handle, then fall about crying at the slightest thing. I hate it.

Went back to the doctors today and they have given me a different prescription this time. Oestrogen only patches at 75 instead of 50. And then I'll be adding in progesterone tablets for the 2nd fortnight each cycle. Hoping this will help. (and that stock exists)

She suggested the coil as an alternative, as apparently it gives better results for people more sensitive to progesterone, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about it so going to try this version first and see how I get on.

It took about 2 weeks to improve, now at 3 months and feel relatively good. I still have the odd symptoms but that seems to be dependant on which patch I am on. I found my symptoms worsened in the first week so much, I wanted to stop but really glad I persevered.

I am on everol Sequi.

Thanks!

I've been prescribed evorel 50 and utrogestan 100mg.

It's not so much my moods that are getting to be it's the exhaustion, aches, sleep and no sex drive. Just hoping this helps.

I was on the mirena coil before I got these symptoms. It wasn't to bad, periods were basically just a little spotting each month no pmt. I had it removed due to making me really dry and also putting a few pounds on

I’m on the same as you, my sex drive, vaginal normalness, night sweats and aching joints improved within one month. Insomnia and forgetfulness has barely improved after 2 months, Im sticking it out and expecting to need an increase at my review.

@HairyKitty good to hear you've had some improvements. Hopefully things will get a lot better after your review

About 2 weeks and now at month two I feel like I am returning to the person I used to be.

I have the mirena coil and I'm on oestrogen gel. I found one pump of the gel wasn't enough and two pumps was too much so I alternate 2 pumps one day 1 pump the next. It seems to work for me. It has cured the night sweats, restless legs ache and pains and low mood for the most part. It hasn't really helped with the brain fog and tiredness though. It took about 2 months for it to really work. It's all trial and error op

Thanks for that. I've only been on it about 10 days so guess I've got a while longer yet before I notice any change
