I'm about to start HRT and take the minipill non-stop and 2 pills a day as I'm not wanting the coil but do want to stop periods – Just looking for anyone on the same prescription and has it been OK and managed to stop periods? Mine are starting up every 2 weeks and really heavy now at 47.

I have been prescribed 4 pumps a day add in the oestrogel as well and then after 3 months review the testosterone and maybe add that in as well.

I’m not menopausal (yet) but I’ve started taking the mini pill as a treatment for heavy periods. In 2 months I’ve had one light break through bleed but apparently that generally stops after a few months.

That's really good to hear – I was a bit surprised she advised 2 pills a day, do you take the same?

No and I’m obese. To prevent bleeding you should start them on the first day of your period and be militant about taking it the same time of the day.

I’ve been on the mini pill for a few years as my periods were becoming erratic - it’s stopped them completely. However my GP said it is not licensed as part of HRT so I am booked in to get a coil now I am at that stage. (49) I’m in Scotland so maybe it’s different rule-wise?

I've been taking the mini pill to eliminate periods for years, works perfectly for me. But 1 per day and I'm not on hrt.
