Did anyone start hrt at age 41 for perimenopause stmptoms did it help?

watching.. my mum was done/dusted with periods by 43.. i'm 41 and in peri-hell.

Considering trying to talk to the drs about it, but i'm convinced i'll get fobbed off because of my age.

I've got near enough all the symptoms apart from hot flushes and still have regular period just heavy.

I spoke to the doctor about 2 months ago, had blood tests and all normal. I've spoke again this morning and basically told I can't cope with the exhaustion and joint aches. She said she will call me next week and get me started on it.

I started HRT three months before my 41st. It was and is an absolute lifesaver. I'm 49 and still on it.

Can I ask how long it took for you to feel more "normal" again?

Almost immediately. Within a couple of days. It was fantastic.
