Is it possible to lose weight during peri menopause?

There is a lot of focus on menopause right now in the media but I can't see much positive about it-I'm probably peri-lots of symptoms (I'm trying to get hold of my GP but can't even get through, much less get an appointment). I've definitely developed a menopausal middle and my usual successful weight loss techniques ( low carb/Intermittent fasting/at least an hours walk a day) no longer work -and it's really depressing me.

Is it even possible to lose weight during peri menopause or do I just give up trying? So fed up. I could cope with all the other symptoms if if didn't look grim on top.

Same. Marking. My BMI is healthy but developing a middle. Started lifting weights.

Place-marking. Depressing, isn’t it?

I walk a LOT but it burns very few calories for me. Like maybe 250 per day for over 10 k. Am beginning swimming soon though I find it a palaver.

10 k steps I mean!

Swimming is about the only thing extra I could do-I broke my arm really badly in December and it's still not good for much so all the cardio and weights I could do would have to be done with one arm. I used to like cycling and body weight workouts for example which I can't now do with any ease. I guess I could do weights with the other arm but I'd end up uneven!
But I bloody HATE swimming. So if it's unlikely to work then I don't even want to bother Grin

I've just been reading Stacey Sims' book Level up on fitness during menopause which might be worth a look - big emphasis on intense exercise (heavy lifting and short bursts of hard cardio) to build muscle. A physio might be able to help with the one-sidedness issue.
