Prolapse advice

Mumtooneboy · 07/06/2022 17:31

I have been diagnosed with a prolapse and am being referred for a specialist opinion.
I forgot to ask the Dr if there's anything I should stop doing in the meantime. Normal life includes 20k+ steps per day running, lifting ...
Any advice welcome.
🤔😬

Oh sorry.

Stop running and stop lifting weights. You're running around 10 miles a day? wow!

They both do more damage.

Look at the website of Michelle Kenway women's physio for info, and safe exercises. Brilliant advice and videos on her site.

I had a prolapse and had it repaired almost 30 years ago. I was told then no running and never lift anything over a stone (in old money!) so that's about 6 kilos or less.

You could also try HRT either systemic or vaginal (or both) as loss of estrogen does make prolapse worse.

Thank you. I'll look up Michelle.
Oops though, I missed the comma. I walk about 20k steps, and occasionally run!
😮
OH will have to help lifting I think - assume Jo Wickes hiit is also out?

anything that is high impact- physio told me that means both feet off the floor at once- is out.

Hi,
I have anterior grade 1 and posterior grade 2, discovered at 12 weeks postpartum and currently 5 months postpartum. I am in pelvic floor therapy at the moment, working through the exercises I have been given.
My physiotherapist has said returning to these type of things is possible, with proper technique. I would suggest that you join the Facebook group "POP Fitness" as there are many ladies there with a wealth of experience and knowledge on staying active with POP.
