Could it be almost over?

I've been in peri for about 18 months - periods have been way heavier, more painful and longer than usual, and apologies for TMI, but the blood has been almost black and gooey for about the last 6 months, and lasting for about two weeks each time. It's been fucking grim.

Now the last 2 months....barely anything. Tiny little bleed, very little pain, getting away with the thinnest pantyliners known to (wo)man!

I don't want to count my chickens (and I still intend to ask for HRT for a ton of other reasons). Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar pattern and if it's likely to mean that the worst of it is over? I feel like perhaps my body was doing a final purge with all the grimness of the last 18 months, but I have no idea if that's how it actually works!
