What does it mean when people say HRT is titrated?

It means dosage is tailored to the individual - looking at the balance between effectiveness and side-effects

To further add to that, it involves a period of trying different combinations of meds/dosage etc until they find the right fit

It means you can adjust the dose yourself, as in using Oestrogel, or any of the gels and sprays, without having to go back to the dr for a new dose (as with a patch or tablets.)

It's not all HRT that's 'titrated' - it 's really about being able to adjust the dose yourself over a period of weeks or months.

The answers above are not quite right. Titration is only used at the moment ( in respect of gel or Lenzetto spray) because it gives control to the woman, to manage the dose.
