...before I drive my husband away.

Am 45. My libido has been shot for a few years but I miss sex. Will do it sporadically in order to keep him happy!

What used to be monthly pmt has become an almost permanent state and I'm miserable , stressed out and short tempered. I go to bed at 8 🙄

Period is still regular. I don't know what to ask for at GP. Please can anyone advise?

Have a look at the Davina programme and speak to your GP. Also Google the NICE guidelines so that you go prepared.

But it’s not just sex by sounds of it?

it is your state of being

I just went to my GP and said I was considering HRT because I felt shit and knackered & had symptoms of menopause.
He was great - on the first visit I had bloods done to rule out other things & he pointed me to the menopause matters website. 2nd visit went through the options and prescribed HRT option I wanted (and called the pharmacy to check they had it).
The blood tests also highlighted other issues which can cause menopausal type symptoms - they are also in treatment. I feel the best I have for ages.

I had bloods done last week and they said if I didn't hear in a couple of days I can assume all is normal. I've not been called.

I will make a GP appointment and hope for the best. I don't think anti depressants will do anything about my libido. But which hrt should I ask for?

Peri menopause can mean loss of libido while your periods are still pretty normal. And a blood test won't 'catch' peri-menopause because your hormones fluctuate wildly in both a normal cycle and a peri menopausal cycle . There is literally no point in doing a blood test.

When I was 47 I told my husband he should probably think about having an affair/open relationship because I absolutely did not want to have sex with him ever again. When I was 48 I went on HRT and we are back to having a healthy, happy sex life. This doesn't have to be your life.

You need to speak to your GP about what they suggest for you personally.
If it was me I’d have a Mirena coil for the progesterone, and the gel for oestrogen.
There is a supply problem with oestrogen at the moment, so your GP is the best person to know what the pharmacy actually has.
