Just started my HRT journey on Saturday and woke this morning to find my Estradot patch had half come off and wouldn’t stick so I had to ditch it. 😔I read the leaflet which said to replace it so I have but I can’t help feeling anxious as I wasn’t meant to put a new one on till tomorrow and this one is meant to last now till Saturday? Can anyone give advice or reassurance, please, as I am worrying. (Btw I had the first one on my upper thigh - the new one is on my abdomen)

I’ve had to abandon the whole gig - my patches just wouldn’t stay on at all! They were the Evorel brand. I felt pretty rotten on them tbh, really bloated, headaches, and very sore boobs, so while that might have settled I think they were not a good fit for me.

I am now waiting to get a coil and oestrogen gel but think it might be quite a long time.

Put your patch so it’s under your pants- bottom/side etc snd you can also put a bit of tape over. If they run your jeans etc they rub off. Just change your patch tomorrow as if the new one was the first one. You’re worrying too much-don’t give up either it takes around 3 months for your body to adjust and often much longer. So many people give up because of bloating, bleed etc but that will subside after a few months. You can also leave the old one on for a half day longer to be sure the other one has taken but don’t quote me-it works though!

I would have stuck it back on with some tape.

Don't worry about it. You can wear an Estradot patch for four days but you can change them whenever, too. They're designed to give out a regular amount of estrogen each day so a new one will not be "stronger". You may have got a slightly lowered dose from the one that came half off but there's nothing you can do about that now.

I find the best placement for Estradot is on my abdomen, low down underneath where the front of my pants is.
