Confused about HRT

Hi all, sorry in advance for the daft question. I got estradot 37.5mg and duphaston 10 mg from my doctor last week. I have a kyleena coil so doctor said not enough progesterone in that hense the need for the tablet. She didn't explain exactly when I'm to start either of them. I'm still getting a monthly period except for this month when it only lasted a day. What would happen if I didn't take the progesterone tablets and just used the patches? I'm already using vagifem every second night. I'm 49, no hot flushes, just a cranky cow, low mood, brain fog, no memory and my libido packed its bag and left. And I'm still questioning myself if I really need it. Any advice greatly received

Do you mean the Mirena coil?

If your Mirena is less than 4 years old, it's giving you all the progsterone you need. If it's older, you could have it replaced.

I think you must be outside the UK as Duphaston is not a brand we have here.

Yes, the kyleena coil releases a lower dose of progestogen than mirena, hence the need for the progestogen tablet.
An adequate dose of progestogen is needed to balance the estrogen in the patch. This prevents the lining of the uterus from becoming too thick, which in the worst case scenario can lead to an increased risk of cancer of the uterus.
The usual sequential hrt regime is estrogen 28 days out of 28, and progestogen either 12 or 14 days out of 28.
If you wanted a simpler regime you could have a mirena instead of the kyleena and this would mean there would be no need for the progestogen in tablet form.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in Ireland so I suppose different brands. I had the mirena removed because I was bloated for months and my boobs were so sore. Doctor said too high of a hormone in it for me. Changed to kyleena and no problems since. I could possibly have the same problem when I start on the progesterone tablets. I really don't know what to do. Is there any particular time I need to start patches and tablets? Do I have to start them at the same time as each other or does it matter? I'm sorry about the silly questions but my doctor is impossible to get hold of. I just want some of my life back.
