I started combined HRT a couple of months ago. Started mid month, with daily Oestrogen gel, and 14 days of Progesterone. Had a full period one day after stopping the Progesterone. Prior to HRT always had a full heavy period every 28 days.

This month, continuous Oestrogen, along with 14 days of Progesterone. Now seven days late. No period. Boobs really tender, tummy ache, etc etc, all the symptoms, but only teeny, tiny bit of spotting.

So, what do I do? Assume I have had a cycle and re-start the Progesterone when I would have if I had had a normal cycle with a period?

Do nothing.

Carry on with the same timings.

You also do not need 14 days. This is something weird that has only cropped up recently (I've used it for 8 years) and it seems to be coming from Dr Newson's 'advice' for GPs. It was never 14 days before she started doing her videos etc on it

The actual dose on the leaflet is 12 days. The 14 days thing was only set up to make it easier for women to remember the '2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.'

It also means you may NOT bleed as the Utrogestan is thinning the lining a lot and is also still in your system. You might bleed later or not at all.

Interesting thank you.

I did wonder what women who ordinarily have, for example, a 42 day cycle (which I did when I was younger), does everyone have to "conform" to the 28 days, or can you just take the Progesterone in your last 12 days, whatever you cycle?
