Starting Utrogestan - can I just start on day 16?

I got my first prescription and I'm on day 16 of my cycle, Utrogestan directions are take for 2 weeks from day 15.

I'm assuming it's better to just start it now for 13 days along with the estradiol, then do the full 2 weeks on the next day 15? 😵‍💫

I have googled but not found this exact question yet!

Thanks in advance for any advice Smile

You can really do pretty much anything with it, as long as you get 12 days in a month.

The leaflet inside your packet says 12 days.

You do not need 14 days. This is something 'new' that's come about as more women are using it, as some dr thought it was 'easier' to say ' 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.' I've used it for years under a very good consultant.

He advised me to choose the first day of the month as the starting day OR the same day each month, so you'd use today as the start day, then 10 June.

You can also shift the day a bit either way if you want to avoid a bleed on a 'special day'. So a couple of days before or after makes no difference.

Thank you :) yes, I saw the leaflet says 12 days and the pharmacist label says 2 weeks.

So I can start today then and set my reminder for the same day each month. 👍
