Everol Sequi side effects

Rupertpenrysmistress · 06/05/2022 13:05

I started these only a week ago so I know it's early days, just wanted to know if anyone else felt the same. I think my side effects/symptoms may also be due to recovery from covid so it's really hard to know what's what.

My worst side effect appears to be my inability to sleep, I do suffer from night sweats but I did at least get to sleep. I now lay awake for ages trying to get to sleep, then the sweating starts so by morning I am even more exhausted. It also seems to be quite a light sleep when I do drift off.
I feel a bit anxious/apprehensive but no idea why, I do take anti depressants but this feels different and is quite unpleasant. I also have a bit of abdominal pain, feels period like so not a huge worry.

I am so desperately trying to improve my health, exercise, no alcohol, reduced caffeine but now I just feel old. I am due back to work next week and am dreading the 13 hour days

I know it's variable from women to women but did anyone suffer this side effects? And if so how long did it last? I am prepared to give the patches 3 months but if I still feel the same I will need to change as I currently feel worse that before the HRT.

I started Evorel Sequi when my main symptoms were insomnia and hot flushes. It cured them the same week but that’s not to say that your side effects are not real or others do not have them. I know other women who have gone through 2-3 regimes before finding something that suits them.

I hope you find a solution.

FunnysInLaJardin · 06/05/2022 13:20

OP, your symptoms sound just like mine. The sleep issues are a killer.

I tried patches and they really didn't work as they were too low a dose and kept falling off.

I am now on 4 pumps of gel and uterogestan which seems to work broadly speaking.

I discovered that I need the max dose of oestrogen and also progesterone.

I also have oral hrt prescribed as a back up and when I tried the 1mg tablets all of my symptoms came back straight away. I have now upped to the 2mg tablets and hope they work.

Hiya Op

I’m on the same patches as you, I had that low grade period pain and also had breakthrough bleeding in the frost two months (it improved each month and by the third month it didn’t happen).

In my case the patches really helped with my night sweats and the anxious knot in my stomach (which I had rational reason to be experiencing).

i have found the days before my period now I have PMT but it’s nothing compared to the two weeks of peri hell I was in every month

I hope the start to work for you, it’s a right nightmare!

Anyfeckinusername · 06/05/2022 13:25

Argh … which I had I NO rational reason to be experiencing… sorry for typos

Rupertpenrysmistress · 06/05/2022 14:39

Thanks all. Glad to know it is not just me, I will persevere and see what happens. I will be honest I get a little confused with the various combinations. My GP just put me straight on these patches. Will do some more reading.

Hello, I’ve just picked up a prescription for these too. I feel a bit clueless - I’m on the mini pill so don’t get periods anyway, and the GP didn’t say to stop taking that.

She suggested Mirena plus oestrogen HRT, but I have never given birth so a bit worried about insertion.

OP how long a supply of patches did you get? The idea was I would try this for three months and then see about maybe the Mirena, but I have only one month in the prescription.

MrsDThomas · 07/05/2022 07:51

Im on these. Done 2 weeks of patch 1, yesterday started patch 2.

i haven’t noticed and difference at all. I don’t feel better yet i dont feel worse.

im also on the minipill and I refused to come off it (its not used as contraception, its to stop my heavy periods). So i dont know what to expect when the last patch it used at week 4. I actually dont want a period, I haven’t bled fir 2 years and it is wonderful!

Rupertpenrysmistress · 07/05/2022 08:53

I was given 3 months supply, it would seem sensible to give it that long really. The patch itself is easier than I thought it stays put until it needs to come off.

I have had a mirena previously but my insertion experience was unpleasant, when it was in it was amazing, no periods at all 😁 however, mine only lasted 3 years as I started getting migraines and the Dr thought perhaps not enough progesterone in it anymore. I have had children but mine was tricky, not the same for everyone of course.

I know nothing about taking the pill alongside HRT, hopefully a more experienced poster like jinglinghellsbells might see this thread.

One month seems a little pointless maybe contact the surgery and ask for a longer prescription. It's great to hear others experience I know we are all individuals but my ? Side effects are not great but I will persevere.

I’ve been on evo seq for the past 6 months, taking the mini pill too. I slept better within the first few days (I have a Fitbit and my deep sleep stats doubled!). Night sweats initially got better. Anxiety eased and didn’t feel as on edge over the 1st couple of months - and more able to deal with things rather than feel they were immediately overwhelming. I did feel more sleepy during the day the first few weeks.

Sleep, anxiety and night sweats pretty much back to pre-patch days recently though - so think I need another review with my GP.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/05/2022 09:37

@Rupertpenrysmistress good to know the patch stays on - I am a fan of a relaxing bath. I think I will call the surgery next week as a month seems pointless and I can’t imagine they have time to do monthly reviews (or me). I wondered if it was to do with short supply maybe?

@Minesababycham @MrsDThomas i am glad there are others on the mini pill too. My persuades started to become a bit erratic so the nurse suggested that or the coil at my last smear. I do use it as contraception although I am sure I am past it at 49, plus my sex drive feels non-existent at the moment. (Fingers crossed HRT solves that)

Rupertpenrysmistress · 08/05/2022 14:32

So yesterday was dreadful. I just wanted to take the patch off due to the awful insomnia/period type pain and anxiety. I didn't sleep particularly well again with night sweats too.

However today I feel so much better I really hope this lasts.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/05/2022 14:46

Oh no, @Rupertpenrysmistress - sorry to hear that. I am starting tomorrow (have numbered off the patches with days like a good Girl Scout) and feel pretty apprehensive about it.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 08/05/2022 15:05

Hi Judy I feel so much better today it seems that awful anxiety which was the worst has gone. Just hope it helps with my symptoms.

It’s very early days for you @Rupertpenrysmistress. I hope you are able to give it more time.

I’ve been advised it takes a while for the hormones to build up again in your body, which makes sense. I started everol sequi 50 end Dec, moved to 75g patches after 3 months with separate progesterone via Utrogestan tablets.
ive thankfully not really had any side effects with any of these. My peri symptoms have generally improved a good bit but I still have issues and anxiety is still an issue, but I have far fewer dreadful days. I’m hoping by end of my 3 months in higher dose things will improve further.
Good luck with it all!

Shelly0985 · 13/07/2022 22:09

I have been prescribed everol patches wasn’t told I had two different patches in pack so have messed up the first two and a half months! Now I know it’s two weeks of 50 followed by two weeks of conti then repeat. I have been having periods two weekly will this settle soon now I’m on the right track?

Same here! I had a 'period' on week 3 of the first box (probably the heaviest I've ever had in my life!). I'm now on week 1 of the 2nd box and having another period. This is so shit!

Shelly0985 · 18/07/2022 21:51

I’m on box three but I was given wrong instructions, my periods literally come with no warning apart from my app that gives me a rough idea of when. No pain or awful clots as I did before but it’s just annoying that I’m bleeding every 10 days for five full days! I’m persevering but am hoping now I’ll start to settle, I’ll reply again if I get any change in patterns.

Battlecat98 · 18/07/2022 22:41

Hi my periods are like this now. As soon as I start the conti patch I start bleeding. First period was awful, but subsequent ones, painless but very heavy for about 3 days, and do last slightly longer.
I have been advised to his improves as to our to natural cycle will eventually over ride it. I hope that's true.

I must have been lucky with my GP he was very specific about how to use the patches, I can see how it is confusing without this.

Shelly0985 · 19/07/2022 06:50

Let’s hope it settles soon then what a rollercoaster!! Damned if I do dammed if I don’t kind of situation; my aches and pains are less and my mood is far brighter that’s why I’m preserving. Good luck 🤞

MrsDThomas · 19/07/2022 16:47

Did 3 months on these along with the minipill to stop my heavy 2 weekly periods.

And it was crap. Did not feel better. After progesterone I felt ratty. DH felt the brunt.

today im back on the combined pill for 3 months (gp said i can take 3 months then a break . I think I had too much progesterone with the minipill and patches.

lets see how i get along!
