HRT what to ask for?

So I have booked a second appointment with a particular GP today who I am hoping is more helpful than the last one who took bloods and said they are normal.

Im 44 and pretty sure I need HRT, I’m fuzzy, brain fog, my sleep was awful a year or two ago but is ok at present. Palpitations, my neck aches like crazy, anxiety and flat. I have no previous history of anxiety or depression.

my job means I need to be sharp and focused plus I am the main earner in my house so my job is critical.

I understand there are shortages of many drugs at present. What do I need to do to increase my chance of getting HRT and the pharmacist being able to supply me with it? Are there generics I can get put on the prescription.

Luckily my bmi is normal, I drink less than 2 units a month and I don’t eat meat. I exercise too. So hopefully I won’t be told to go home and change my lifestyle.

i want to feel normal again!

There are plenty of types available. The only shortage is with Oestrogel and its alternatives (other gel/ spray.)

At your age- young- there is no reason why you need gel / patches which are safer re. blood clots, but more especially for older women ( 50s and older, not women in early 40s.)

One of the better tablets is Femoston as it's pretty body-identical (like gel and micronised progesterone.)

There is also availability of patches so I'd really not get too worried about it all as you are young enough to use other types.

Thank you for replying. I hope the gp is sympathetic later today
