HRT & T3 (hashimotos) London

I saw a post on here last year but now I can't find it recommending a private London HRT consultant who also prescribed something additional for hashimotos alongside levothyroxine (liothyronine?)

If anyone has a recommendation I would hugely appreciate it.

I need a thyroid review and feel like if I'm not on top of that I can't start on hrt as some of the symptoms overlap..

Ah no just start the hrt. I've found the symptoms for peri are way more worse than slight tweaks with thyroxine.

Also I've picked up that some people find the hrt helps with thyroid side of things if that makes sense.

Or do both, but please just go for the hrt if you're suffering.

I had hypothyroidism from the age of 20 and never had the extreme symptoms I have with peri menopause. I even think the brain fog is worse!

Thyroid UK will send you a list of NHS and private endocrinologists, with notes as to if they will prescribe T3 as well as T4, and other things (I'm vague because I'm the opposite and am on anti-thyroid meds!).

Dunno if this is helpful but I just read on a link on the main Davina/C4 thread that you need to make sure you're prescribed transdermal HRT if you have thyroid issues, not tablets. So patches, gel or spray.

(I'm in the same boat as you btw.)

An update.. I also had low iron and had an iron transfusion in August which zapped my brain fog the same day. I've been to see a meno dr privately and will monitor hormone levels for a while as I have symptoms such as migraines and tenders beats which suggest oestrogen dominance.
