'period' every two weeks

I have been using everol conti patches for about 4 years now and have felt generally ok, not 100% but ok. Periods became very light and irregular a year or so ago and spaced out. Went almost 6 months without and so I thought I was on the home stretch with all that.

Since that period mid Feb 2002, I have bled about every 14 days for a day. Its now happened again for the 5th time since Feb. Really heavy bright red bleed, and terrible pms symptoms for the days leading up to it. I've started taking iron supplements as I feel so run down and tired. Absolutely exhausted and fed up.

I have an appt with a private menopause specialist in a couple of weeks as my GP is completely useless and awful. The last time I saw her for an annual check-up I told her I was still having flushes at that time and I asked for any alternative types of HRT. She just threatened to stop my prescription if I didn't like as apparently there is nothing else! So, I would rather obviously talk to an actual compassionate specialist GP than her, but is this something that can wait? Is it just the beginning of the end IYSWIM?

Any ideas very welcome!

I have been using everol conti [continuous] patches for about 4 years now

Continuous combined HRT is for women at least 12 months on from their own periods.

Are you sure that's what you are using?

There is
1)combined & continuous HRT ( 2 hormones every day)
or
2) sequential ( estrogen daily + progestin 12-14 days per month.)

With 1) you have no periods
with 2 ) you have a regular withdrawal bleed every month.
