Can you eke out oestrogen only HRT patches?

I use Estradot patches. I already eke them out by wearing each one for four days. They say to change on day 4 and then on day 3 so you change on the same days each week, but if each patch lasts for 4 days I see no reason to throw one out early. I just set a diary reminder. But It has got me wondering whether a patch could perhaps be successfully worn for 5 days. I don't suppose the patch magically stops giving out oestrogen after 4 days. Or maybe it does? I'd have thought there must be some sort of margin, but whether it would stretch to a full day on top of the four you can rely on is debatable, I guess.

My patches say not to worry if you forget to change a patch as there is in fact enough oestrogen for several days.

I keep my old patch on when I put my new one on atm as an experiment to see if I feel better on a higher dose. I do, so it’s definitely still working.

I don't think I'm on enough as i I find by the morning of day 5 symptoms are definitely creeping back. In fact I'm doing either 3 days or 3.5.
