Zoely, Qlaira - substitute for HRT?

common theme: my GP thinks i m too young (early 40s) for peri, despite plethora of symptoms that fit, and normal thyroid.

I am not on any contraceptive, and have heavy periods, so she tried to push for the mirena, which i do not want.

Her advice was for me to start thinking about a new generation pill, like zoely or qlaira, if i was not keen on the coil.

Anyone had any experience of these prescribed as an alternative to HRT?

did it help symptoms such as anxiety, panic attacks, crap thinning hair, without teiggering a big weight gain (last time i went on the pill in my 20s, i gained 3 bra cup sizes, and a stone and a bit).

We’ve got a few younger women using these instead of HRT as it gives them contraception and some biosimilar oestrogen in one go, as it were.

Worth a try, certainly if you’re young as it should give you relief of perimenopausal symptoms as well as better cycle control bleeding wise.

I was on Qlaira for a while. I only came off it because there were supply issues last year and I couldn't get it anymore. It worked fairly well for me but I'm now on the Mirena coil plus estrogen patches and I have to say this works better for me.
