Weight gain on Evorel 50?

I am 60, have osteoporosis and I am on Evorel 50 patches to address that for the last five years. My bones are much better and I feel very well in myself. Evorel, calcium and vitamin D supplements and weight-bearing exercises 4 times a week have been a great way for me to address my osteoporosis - I'm sure I'll need Forteo, Fosamax, etc, eventually but HRT and nutrition and exercise seem to be doing the trick for now.

I'd like to continue with the HRT patches as I feel so well and it's working, but the truth is I've gained a lot of weight. I don't drink wine any longer and do at least 7,500 steps a day and eat a low-fat vegetarian diet and the scale keeps creeping up. My bra size has ballooned from a 36C to a 36F!

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this on Evorel 50?

I’ve found the opposite.
I’m thinner now since I started using Evorel 50 3 years ago.

Maybe start writing down everything you eat and see if there actually is a culprit you didn’t expect?

You say you're on evorel 50, can I ask where you're getting your progesterone part of HRT from as that part of a HRT regime can increase/ decrease appetite leading to weight gain?

No not at all

Thanks everyone. I am on Evorel Conti (50) patches, which have the progesterone included. Previously when I cut down on wine and upped my exercise I'd lose weight, but I'm doing an hour a day on the treadmill and have stopped drinking for over a year to no effect. My bra size increasing is also fairly annoying - this has happened in the last year or so after five years on the patches. I love the Evorel patch and don't want to cut down, so it's good to know others are having the opposite effect.

Maybe you should try swapping to gel and micronised progesterone or Estradot and micronised progesterone?

50mgs patch is quite high (I use gel and it's around a 37mcg patch.)

You could also try My Fitness Pal to work out your food intake/ exercise as you may simply be eating too much :)
Exercise alone is not the answer to weight control- it's more 80% food and 20% exercise.
