Has anyone ever done the Lifecode GX test or a version of it? They do a hormone report that’s over £300 and I’m curious to hear if it’s worth it? The price comes with an appointment to chat through the results and it’s a simple saliva test you can do yourself. I know Liz Earle (big menopause and Newson advocate) has but anyone normal 😆 thank you in advance

Instead of £300 to this … consider seeing a private GYN and they will do blood test and give you medical advice about your hormone levels. DNA sounds very science-y, but not sure what will tell you what you’d body is doing today. If u have the ££ I would recommend a face to face relationship with an GYN doctor who will be able to do blood test & to do more tests if needed. I think there will be a limit to the saliva & zoom call if you need treatment.
I have had hormone & thyroid tests done thru peri menopause as weight gain can be thyroid, Dr was able to tell me definitive answers and also did breast & pelvic exams. I think if Dr can see your body, it helps they have a lot of experience seeing patients in real life.

I don't see how a saliva test can properly provide the info.,

Blood tests aren't always useful for meno anyway as hormones fluctuate so much.

I'd see a private menopause specialist, although likely to be double the cost.

I'm not sure what the DNA test is for @pinkrabbits39 DNA is genetic testing. Is it to show when you might be menopausal?

I'd not touch it with a barge pole. I also don't think it's what either Dr Newson or Liz Earle advocate. Can you clarify?

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor Most private consultants across the UK charge a very similar fee for the first consultation. It's in the region of £250-£300 for up to an hour. Further appts that are 30mins-45mins tend to be just over half the hourly fee. Blood tests are extra and depend on the fee charged by the labs they use.
