Mirena and menopause

I’m’ on femeston continuous sequential hormone replacement therapies.

I hate the progesterone bit, get very down.

Been on it for years.

I’m 54. Nurse suggested Mirena as then would be on continuous non oral dose progesterone and that would be better. Then could go on oestrogen gel or patches.

Any experience…positive hopefully…

I had 3 Mirena coils from the age of 39, it was that or a hysterectomy for very heavy periods. It suited me very well, my periods lessened very quickly and stopped, I don't think I ever had another one! HRT wasn't suggested when the last one was removed, I get occasional hot flushes but nothing too bad at all. I would recommend it!
