Hello, am just about to start hrt but am worrying about some research I came across, which suggests that risk of heart attack is increased in the first year of stopping, in case I have to come off it at some point. Since there is cardiovascular disease in my family I find this prospect very scary. I am 55 and 8 months since last period and worried about starting. I know there must be many ladies out there who discontinued with no ill effects.
