Itching

I recently had a vaginal swab taken for itching around the outside of my vulva , it came back clear the Dr said there isn’t any infection or thrush and prescribed Hydrocortisone 1% cream
Tbh I’m concerned about using steroid cream in that area should I be
I was prescribed Ovestin by my menopause Dr for the itching but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
The itching is mainly at night

Hi, just wondered if you ever got an answer about your ‘itch’? I have the same complaint, my GP gave me Ovestin and I’ve used it briefly but it caused stinging more than anything. Also Pimafucort, but still not having any luck. Thanks.

Ovestin can cause stinging at first but you need to keep going with it. Use a tiny amount, and gradually it will thicken your skin (in a good way) so it's not so sensitive.

I have used it for years (16) and full HRT and it did sting at first.

Vagisil that you can just get on amazon or over the counter is very good .

If you had itching prior to applying the Ovestin you’re probably sore so it’ll take a few applications to feel any result . It stung when I first applied it but over time it’s made a huge difference no more itching
