Do some people feel better when taking progesterone?

I'm very new to HRT - one month in. Anxiety symptoms are now not noticeable so I'm very happy about that. I read a lot about women having bad effects taking progesterone. My first month experience is that my mood was elevated during the 12 days I took progesterone. I was the calmest, most reasonable, happiest person I've been for a long time. I'm back to having quite a flat mood after stopping the progesterone after 12 days.

Does that happen to anyone else? Does that mean I'm low on progesterone? It would tally with having had 21/22 day cycles for the past 8 years or so.

I do too. I take my progesterone on day 15 and I think I'm naturally happier at that point in my cycle anyway. Also it has a sedative affect so I have amazing sleep. Win, Win ☺️

Sorry not day 15. The 15th of every month.

Using it vaginally I don't notice any difference one way or the other. this is not possible for most types of progesterone, only Utrogestan.

I love the progesterone phase of my regime! I sleep really really deeply, have lovely dreams and am very calm Smile

I’m not on full HRT but have a mirena coil. My PMT has disappeared since having it.

'@JinglingHellsBells I'm interested to know about using progesterone vaginally as I'd really rather not have the marina coil so was wondering about this option. Do you take it for the entire month? Does this stop your periods?

Yes me too. I slept for the first time properly and nearly as soon as I got into bed after having insomnia for years. Now am off it again my sleep not soo good. But was only my 1st mth so am hoping it will all balance out in a few months. I also loved being pregnant and isn't that because progesterone is higher when pregnant. I did get spots and am guessing that is due to the hormones and didn't even get spots as a teenager. Can't wait for my 14 days of progesterone. Was and is a shortage of of Divigel and I had to ring 6 chemists before I found one that had any and they gave me 3 boxes of it, shocking that hard enough to get hrt at all as had a old male doctor, but wellwoman clinic were great and now having the shortage of hrt. How long are you on it?
