Hi. I changed from Estrogel & Utrogestan continuous through menopause Dr’s advise as wasn’t absorbing well she put me on Everol 100
I’ve been spotting since Sunday & what was just dark blood (sorry tmi) on the tissue is a bit worse that I have to wear a panty liner

Has anyone else experienced this ?how long does it last when one changes their HRT

I have spoken to my Gp & she’s put a referral for a scan in but I’m worried

Any changes to HRT can cause bleeding I believe. This happened to me,they standardly check it out on the suspected cancer pathway which is scary. It's highly unlikely to be cancer OP but good that it's being checked.

I've been going through bleeding which was investigated - first by transvaginal scan and then hysteroscopy plus biopsy, the cause found being a small fibroid.

It can be usual to have some bleeding in the first few months after starting or changing HRT and if it extends beyond about 3 months should be investigated on the 2 week pathway. Bleeding can happen for many reasons including thickened endometrial lining, polyps or fibroids. If no cause is found a Mirena could can be more effective in controlling bleeding. Alternatively reducing the patch dose or increasing the Utrogestan can help.
