I am a mess today, tired despite sleeping 8 hours, can't stand my teen, bleeding (7 weeks out of 11 now)

I've been on oestrogel for a few months which I feel is doing nothing
I'm so up and down emotionally
Weight is a constant battle and I have to exercise 4-5 times a week just to maintain
No alcohol tolerance at all
I've got a mirena and have had one for about 11 years, this one for a year. Constantly bleeding since early Jan with about 3 weeks off

I don't know what to do or where to turn, DP is useless, ive just left work as I can't bear to talk to anyone about it

Please help

You should ask for a referral to see a gynae. Get the Mirena checked to see it's still in the right place, and discuss other options to control the bleeding. If you are bleeding so much, you may be anaemic.

There are other options like an ablation for the bleeding but you need to talk to a specialist.

The bleeding is directly linked to the circulating estrogen so maybe reducing your gel a little would help meanwhile?

I have a gynae apt in April but I can't take another month of bleeding
I had a scan a few weeks ago so I know the coil is where it should be

So do you think the oestrogel is causing the bleeding?

I'm scared to reduce it or stop it in case I actually go crazy!!!!!
But it's done nothing so far

If you can go to a private peri/menopause clinic, do it.

AtrociousCircumstance · 08/03/2022 21:47

How many pumps of oestrogel are you having a day?

You could arrange to see your GP to discuss before April plus if you have the money you could see a private menopause specialist?

I don't know but my Gp commented that using utrogestan vaginally is better for bleeding.

I wonder if you're allowed a short term script to use vaginally (probably 1 daily?) till
Your appt?
