I am on HRT (Kliovance 1mg / 0.5 mg) and doing ok mostly - some night sweats, waking at 4am but have coped so far. However in the last week or so I have started to itch. Mostly my scalp but today my legs too. Lips are very dry also. Dr. Google says hormonal, should I wait and see if it goes away, or is this an up your meds before you claw off your face scenario?

My DM has had this, GP thinks it's iron deficiency but also mentioned thyroid and did a liver function test, so your may need more general blood tests.

I started HRT just over a month ago and the itch is unbearable. I have very dry skin anyway but it's got much worse. I really am fit to tear my face off. I am piling on the moisturiser but it's not helping. I had blood tests less than a week ago and I am waiting on the results.

@Theblacksheepandme I feel your pain. Not managed an appointment yet but will keep trying. Hope you get your results soon and they show what the problem is.

Oh gosh, I had terribly itchy skin whilst going through the menopause and it drove me to distraction! You have my sympathies.

I cut out all products with parabans & sls (on gp advice, never having had a reaction before) moisturised with E45 and some prescription cream when needed-hydrocortisone I think. It took a while to link the 2 as my menopause started early.

Take piriton or an antihistamine every day. Only thing that saved my sanity. Mine was caused when I started the progesterone part of the hrt, drove me bonkers and I couldn't sleep properly for 2 weeks at a time.

I have just starting itching everywhere. Skin is red with it. Hot flushes and no period for 4 months. Is it something that happens intermittently with menopause ?
