I dont know if I am waking up more because I need to wee, or needing to wee because I am waking up more...... but the lack of uninterrupted sleep for the last 3 weeks is destroying me.
I dont eat or drink anyhting after 7pm , or drink caffeine at all.
I have been waking at 1, 3, 5 am & producing a reasonable amount of wee! ( sorry if tmi)
i ahve been on hrt for 4 months....25 patch & 100 ustrogen. the higher patch made me feel really rough. the ustrogen initially made me sleep loads better.
any suggestions please what to ask the Dr for before I loose my mind? thanks

Do you have diabetes or sleep apnoea or heart failure?
A visit to a uro gynaecologist would help.
You need to keep a bladder diary for 3 days noting everything in and out and times. Take that to the doctor.
Some people produce more urine at night and there is medication for that.. some people develop over active bladders, again medication for that.
Good luck

Utrogestan is a known diuretic- it can make you wee more. Many women taking utrogestan, especially orally, find it makes them wee at night.

Your patch is a low dose and it may be that if you had a higher dose, it would balance the progesterone.

OR try using the Utrogestan vaginally, which may stop it making you wee at night.

Have you any continence issues at all? Do you leak when you cough, sneeze etc? I had all those symptoms plus having to get up at night constantly so my menopause specialist prescribed Vagifam, its localised hormone inserted into the vagina daily. It has worked wonderfully well for me, I can go out for the day without having to know that I'll be able to access a loo easily and no waking during the night.
