Aches and pains back. Snappy mood back. So tired. Feeling huge & lethargic.

It really helped everything stop hurting initially. So then I had energy to exercise again.

Why has it stopped?! 🙈

Hi @HoliHormonalTigerlilly! Oh dear, how long have you been on it? What dose? I’m in the same boat. I only started end of Dec, I was starting to feel better as January went on Then in February my mood, anxiety and fatigue all started getting worse again. My aches and pains and palpitations are the only thing that have remained improved. Not sure what to do next!

Since Oct.
Just increased dose of oestrogen spray this month. Not feeling better for it though 🙈

So now 2 sprays lenzetto & 2 utrogestan for half the month. Vaginally 🙄

I’m on Evorel Sequi 50 patches.

I am thinking that perhaps the HRT is probably doing it’s thing topping things up at a pretty constant rate, but my own hormones are taking such a dip at times the HRT just isn’t enough to counter it and the symptoms come back. I’m afraid I know nothing about the spray. I was only offered pills or patches.I hope it starts working better for you soon at the higher dose. I want to ask for a higher dose but I don’t think that’s possible on these patches.

I thought it took 3 months to really kick in? I'm on month 4 now. The first few weeks I felt horrendous, but feel its really working now and never wat to come off it!

You might need some testosterone (you can get the female version) as well as the rest!

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 03/03/2022 04:17

I just don't understand why it would work so well initially then just stop.

Discuss upping the dose? Or trying a different kind?

JinglingHellsBells · 03/03/2022 09:20

I don't think HRT stop working to be honest. It might be you need to try something else .

juliedmoore · 22/08/2022 12:03

I have been on HRT for about 5 years and am now 61. Recently I've started getting hot flushes. I feel constantly hot. HRT has really helped through the menopause apart from when I couldn't get my original HRT.

ThingInTheAttic · 22/08/2022 16:53

JulieDMoore, it could be that your estrogen needs increasing. It's quite common for menopause symptoms to re-occur, or new ones to appear if you've been on the same dose of HRT for a while. It's because our own hormones are continuing to decline, so eventually there can come a time when the HRT dose just isn't enough any more.
I'm 54, I've just changed my HRT after two years of being symptom-free. My original symptoms are returning, plus I now have the whole new added joy of vaginal atrophy, complete with bladder weakness. Maybe time to have a word with whoever prescribes your HRT?
