Are some hrt patches better than others?

I recently switched from fem7 to estraderm because that is what the pharmacist gave me. Same dose. Almost immediately night sweats etc have come back ie I don’t think I just need a higher dose. Can it be that I am more receptive to one brand than another?

I hate Estraderm. I was given it when Evorel wasn't available.

Given that the patches supposedly contain the same amount of estradiol (oestrogen), I'm assuming it's about absorption. And dear lord, the Estraderm patches seem to start peeling after about three hours.

So there's no way I'm getting the same amount from an Estraderm patch than an Evorel patch.

^^ adhesiveness problems depend on manufacturing dates apparently.

I have been doubling up / cutting patches and definitely feel better - and have a call booked yet again with my GP about getting a pump dispenser. (She is not particularly helpful. Currently thinks I should be on 25 ffs.) I have a 'reservoir' of patches fortunately from buying privately.

Thanks. These estraderm partches are not peeling but they are not working! Have reverted to early waking as you can see!

You have to persevere until you find one that suits you. It's quite complex.

I am really happy to do so but I am unsure if my gp will keep prescribing different types!

Why don't you you ask to try a different method of delivery, in that case? As in, gel? That's what I'm aiming for!

I have been on hrt for 10 years. I have been prescribed pills, gel, patches and implant over the years. Patches used to work brilliantly then stopped (apparently that happens)!implant was causing side effects so went back to some leftover patches. Femseven seemed to be brilliant so decided to stay on patches for time being so now am confused as to whether is brand or delivery method at issue or maybe dose.
