The pharmacist said 2 sprays was the same as the 4 pumps of gel I had recently upped to. Would that be correct? Is it as effective?
Thanks

I’ve just started a new pump and I’m sure this one gives out far more than the last one! It does seem to be a bit inconsistent.

I also find that the funnel area is always left wet, so is some of the required dose actually being left there, or is the wastage factored in, I wonder?

I run my finger around it and wipe it on my arm to make sure I get everything!

Great idea!

From what I understand:
I am on 4 pumps of gel a day, which would equal 6 sprays of Lenzetto.

If you check the British Menopause Society dose equivalent guide, it says that 3 sprays is equivalent to 2 pumps of gel or a 50 patch. So you were put on a lower dose, and your symptoms came back. I hope you are sorted now.

BigButtons · 20/05/2022 07:13

I am on 6 sprays so whizzing through the containers- what a silly system. Why can’t they make it stronger ffs? Still get overly warm once a night but not horrendous sweats. Enough to wake me up though 😡

I rang my GP about this, and she said that 6 sprays was ridiculous (but agreed that was the equivalent to 4 pumps of the gel) and re prescribed me the gel, and got me 4 bottles of the stuff- although I notice it's still not on my online repeat prescription form, so I'll have to go through the whole process again next time.
As soon as I started on the gel again, most of my symptoms settled.

BigButtons · 20/05/2022 13:16

@Gravelly i keep asking for gel but they say it is still very hard to get here.😟

I was on Lenzetto, but switched to gel and I’m 4 x gel pumps daily, can go to 5 if symptoms return, so my conversion was: 2 sprays = 4 pumps

6 sprays seems so much!? @BigButtons

BigButtons · 29/05/2022 11:04

@NowThatsWhatICall22 the British menopause society has a page of equivalent doses using different products and 3 sprays=2 pumps. My gp agreed this too.
the gp is looking into perhaps mixing patches and sprays. I am having a blood test in June to check my oestrogen and testosterone levels. Apparently they can now prescribe testosterone in England for women. Will be interesting to find out whether I am actually absorbing the spray in any kind of meaningful way.

My gp also said they have changed the recommendation for the gel to inner thighs only. No longer upper arms?
he suggested I use the spray on my thighs too and see if that helps. I think it is a bit actually.

OP posts:
Melassa · 29/05/2022 16:39

I spray on inner thighs, just before going to bed so no getting rubbed off with clothing. My gynae suggested in thighs as opposed to inner arms as further away from boobs.

I need to go back for a follow up appointment, she was keen to prescribe me testosterone and/or DHEA, she reckons it’s important to keep up sexual activity in menopause and these help with libido. At the time I was just keen on getting a good night’s sleep so I told her maybe next time. I’m still unsure though.

NowThatsWhatICall22 · 29/05/2022 22:16

Interesting to hear the recommendation has changed to thighs instead of upper arms. I always applied the spray to inside lower arm, but switch to gel I was advised back on upper arms. I’d prefer to be away from chest, tbh. One of the reasons I switched away from spray, was I hit a patch where my old symptoms returned, not fully, but enough to assume I was no longer absorbing the spray in an effective way. So it was either, increase spray or switch products, so I chose to try the gel. I’m still struggling to be honest, I’ve definitely not had the same balanced feeling I once achieved on the spray. It’s a bit disheartening to feel like I’m starting over again and not feeling good yet even after some time on what I thought was the equivalent pumps of gel. I’m now wondering if it’s not the correct dosage?

I’m the same re testosterone @Melassa I feel a bit unsure about using it for some reason, though it probably helps that my DH also prioritises a good night’s sleep too at the moment, so I am stalling that decision😐

NowThatsWhatICall22 · 29/05/2022 22:30

So now I’ve looked at that official advice, thanks OP @BigButtons and a look around some of the menopause forums and I would say I’m on too much- from two sprays to 4-5pumps? I think I should only be on two? I’ve checked my prescription notes and it does say 4 pumps? Thinking I should reduce to 2 myself, as I really have not been feeling great.

BigButtons · 29/05/2022 22:47

@NowThatsWhatICall22 the beauty of the gel is that you can half pumps. The spray doesn’t allow that. Not that there is any gel where I am.
I would like to try some testosterone. Hope it won’t make my bloody beard grow any more though.
interesting that you apply at night @Melassa . I have always done mine in the morning and my progesterone at night( hate progesterone makes me swell up like a bloated pig)

OP posts:
Gravelly · 30/05/2022 08:39

I had problems with the progesterone too (It made me angry- anxious and dangerous to be around) so I got a arena coil, and its MUCH better

Melassa · 30/05/2022 21:47

I’ve not had issues with the progesterone but I take it vaginally. I do the Lenzetto before going to bed as I was finding I was forgetting it in the mornings. At least this way it’s part of my bedtime routine and I don’t need to remember something twice a day!

I’m reluctant to try the testosterone as I’ve always been fairly hairy and I’m enjoying my new-found relative hair-freeness. Except for my chin of course but even that appears to have got a bit more under control of late. Or maybe my eyesight has got worse 🤔🤓

BigButtons · 30/05/2022 21:52

@Melassa I have got patches to try now. Lenzetto has run out here too anyway. Yeah bloody hairy chins. I have been using an IPL device. Had some success on my beard- not as great as hoped but will persist. On the rest of my body it’s been a miracle though!

I wish that had worked for me. It was an unmitigated disaster. Would have been so much easier if it had.

Ha Ha I'm always seeing middle aged women absentmindedly feeling their chins for bristles. Makes me laugh. I worry about the eyesight going. I have at least one acquaintance with some whoppers growing, and I never know whether to tell her.

Shortyneedinghelp · 04/07/2025 12:03

Hi new to MN so apologies if im on wrong place
Please need help. Was put on hrt patches, then gel now lenzttoo spray. Anyone find it good?
I was doing well on estradot but there's a shortage. Thank you in advance x

BigButtons · 08/07/2025 22:42

Lenzetto is awful- may as well be spraying water on you. It’s weak as hell.

I always put on an extra squirt!
Also, after squirting, run my fingers around inside the trumpet to get all the stuff that's there (loads!) and rub that on, too!
No longer on lenzetto though. Tried everol conti -still kept bleeding - so now back on Estrogel and with a mirena coil.
Finally after 3.5 years may have found the right HRT for me .
