Adenomyosis and HRT

Hi I was diagnosed with Adenomysis about a year and half ago, I am 48 and have had 2 children. This was diagnosed via a scan, the pain is manageable so was advised to wait for the menopause when symptoms would go rather than surgery or the mirena coil - which I haven't got on well with in the past.
However my perimenopause symptoms are getting worse, awful lethargy, feeling very low and night sweats. I was wondering if anyone with Adenomyosis has used HRT at all and how have they got on with it before I speak with my GP - thanks

Yes. I have it and have used HRT for many years (over 12.)
I do get a heavier bleed each cycle (more than my own periods were) and sometimes I did get 'period' pain although that seems to have calmed down now.

I was only diagnosed with adeno after being on HRT when I had a scan (for something else.) I have no idea how long it has been there or if HRT provoked it more or not.

I'm 46 and went to my GP to ask the same question. I also have adenomyosis and wanted HRT as my peri symptoms are getting worse. She had no idea and has referred me to a menopause clinic. I have that appointment in a few weeks.

I was diagnosed 11 years ago. treatment was mirena. I’m now on third mirena and have had estrogen gel for three years now. Not had a period for ten years as cleared up by the mirena.

Thank you everyone for your comments they are really helpful and good that Adeno and HRT is not a definite no. I had lots of issues with the Mirena and had to have it removed so unfortunately not an option for me.

Hello anyone with adenomyosis who has started HRT? I'm on oestrogel and uterogestan (progesterone) and so far feeling better generally but periods are heavier. Any advice gratefully received. It's only been 4 months so I m hoping it ll calm down a little! Many thanks
