I'm assuming a symptom of menopause, I'm 51. Seems to occur after exercise but sometime randomly. Don't think my footwear makes any difference I wear a mix of flats and heels, happens with both.

Am already taking magnesium. Anything else that can help??

Dehydration is a trigger for me.

I don't know the cause, but I know the immediate cure. Try to point your toes to ward's your knee.

I'm an avid footballer supporter (well, one team to be honest) and its what a team member does when one of their side goes down with cramp. It's usually, in footballers, a sign of over tired muscles. I used to get it when I was swimming. The toe to knee thing always worked.

Possibly potassium, I think it increases during exercise and then dips due to sweating before recovering fairly quicky.

chasegirl · 29/01/2022 20:56

I don't think it's dehydration but the potassium might be an idea. I do the toe pointing up, it's the only was to ease it but have to do it several times.

I work out for about 3 hours a week but maybe it is overtired muscles? 3 hours until excessive though is it?
