Progesterone causing nightmares?

I've started taking progesterone along with the estrogel gel. My GP has me taking it from day 15 to day 26. I was sleeping really well with the gel, no hot flushes, night sweats etc. As soon as I started with the progesterone, I've been having horrible dreams. Not every night, but quite often and they are pretty disturbing. I will ask my GP about it when I next speak to her, but wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing.

I do have more vivid dreams sometimes when using it but I'd not go as far as to say nightmares :)
I guess I just accept it.
A lot of the time now I'm using it vaginally as my consultant says that's better if you can, and I don't find it affects dreams so much.
TBH I doubt your GP will shed much light on it. It's just 'one of those things' that can affect some women.

I take it daily, ( well every night) & it has helped my sleep massively, despite the vivd dreams. I would far rather have very odd dreams every night than be up at 3.30am every day !!!

Thanks both, the dreams are bearable, just very weird.

I'm taking progesterone pessary as a part of my fertility treatment and im having nightmares every night. sometimes twice in one night.
It's so strange but i'm sure this is a side effect of progesterone. I actually cannot remember wen was the last time i had a nightmare before I started taking progesterone.
