Mirena - still spotting after 5 months. Peri menopausal.

Looking for some advice on whether to stick with it or not.
Had it put in due to heavy periods leading to anaemia, peri menopausal so seemed the obvious thing. Friends said it would stop all bleeding and I’d love it.
Have had constant spotting. Sometimes pink, sometimes brown, sometimes looks like I’m starting a period. Having to wear a pad every day.
Wires are up inside, so I’m down to have it removed next month.
Just don’t know what is best to do, do I put up with daily spotting or go back to heavy periods ?
At least with a period I know it will last 5 days and then go away, but I did get flooding for a day.
But the spotting I put up with could be spotting due to cancer in the future, and I wouldn’t know.

And I was given a course of progesterone to flush my womb out, but nothing happened. I just continued with the same spotting.

It's annoying isn't it? I'm three months in and have daily spotting - sometimes more than spotting. I was told up to six months for it to settle so I guess I'll persevere a bit longer.

I spotted for 12 moths both times I e had it then all sorted.

Mine took 6 months but I wouldn't be without it now. I'm also peri menopausal, and on oestrogen gel

I think for me the spotting finally stopped for good around six months in, after that I never had another period. I had it put in for the same reasons as OP.

Also started to get flooding periods & bad cramps in peri. Eventually went on mirena with oestrogel & tostran.
My spotting was almost daily for 12 months, with light bleeds when it was a period. Then about another 4 months spotting 2/3rds of the time between periods. Then finally it settled. I now only have incredibly light periods, which are just a few days of spotting really, don't need protection really. It was a nuisance but I'm glad I hung on. Much better than flooding & pain. Also it's been the only progesterone I've ever tolerated as the dose is low enough. Mirena been in 4 yrs now.

After having no period, just constant varieties of spotting, I’m now bleeding like a medium period. Is it a period, is it going to be constant, who knows. I’m fairly sure I just want it out now.
If they push my appointment back one more time I’m going to kick off.

I'm peri and they have suggested the coil to me. I used to be on cerazette which stopped my periods for years and I'd rather try it again. But the doctors are insusting Mirena is best. Does anyone know why thus would be?
